Click any citation field on the Search Results Page to view the citation details in a separate page called the Citation Details page. This page allows you to scroll through the citation text.
This Citation Details page is also displayed when you click a citation from the Citations tab from the Schedules page or the Change Request Details page.
· Citation ID: The information needed to look up the citation in a law library; in other words, the legal reporter abbreviation, section number, and citation number.
· Jurisdiction: Name of the geographic location to which the citation applies (see Jurisdictions).
· Regulated Party: Summarizes the types of persons or entities required to keep the records regulated by the citation (see Regulated Parties).
· Description: Summarizes the types of records that are to be kept (see Record Descriptions).
Note: The Regulated Party and Description fields are limited in length and cannot capture all of the detail that may be found in the citation itself. They are meant to provide a quick reference as to what is in the citation. Therefore, they should not be relied upon to the exclusion of consulting the text of the citation.
· Retention: The formula (retention abbreviation plus period of time) that designates how long the record must be kept.
· Retention Description: Narrative content describing any special conditions associated with the defined retention period.
· Date Added: Date the citation was added to your database.
· Date Updated: Date the citation was last updated in your database.
· Date Published: Date the citation was last published by Zasio.
· Entered By: Indicates who added the citation, whether a user or downloaded from the Zasio servers.
· Status: Status of the citation: "Active" or "Inactive."
· Headings: Lists the source of the law and the names of any titles, chapters, parts, articles, and other relevant sections under which the law is organized. Headings often modify the scope of the law, so they are important to consider when evaluating whether a law is applicable.
· Agency: Normalized agency name is based off of the information from the citation, but generalized to allow more consistent searching over time.
· Text: This area displays the relevant text of the citation. In cases of long citations where only part of the citation refers to recordkeeping requirements, only the relevant passages have been included. Ellipses (...) indicate places where wording has been skipped.
· Business Activities: Types of business or activity assigned to the citation (see Business Activities).
· Schedules: Schedules linked to the citation, if any.
· Review Flags: Any review flags that were added to the citation in Versatile Retention are displayed at the bottom of the page (see Displaying Review Flags).
